The 2020+ Kawasaki Z H2 is an interesting bike. It shares a lot of similarities with it's supercharged brother, the H2. It also has quite a few differences from the H2. Put simply, the Z H2 is the biggest departure from the H2 family we've seen yet. In the engine alone the Z H2 has more compression, a different cylinder head configuration, less boost, among other changes from the H2 and H2R.

When we see how other people tune the H2 engines, it's extremely aggressive and more like how you would tune a N/A liter bike. From a lot of data logging and testing we have found the limits of the motor to be quite different from its H2 counterpart. It's safe to say the joke that H2 motors aren't reliable isn't due to the engine itself, but rather how it's tuned. With the differences in the engine between the H2 and the Z H2, using the same tuning theory between the two can result in catastrophic engine failure.

Many H2 engine failures can be attributed to too much ignition timing and too much RPM in tuning. While the numbers will be lower than its H2 counterpart, the Z H2 with our tuning will be reliable and consistent. When you think about it, the Z H2 is a non-intercooled engine and must be tuned more delicately to ensure a reliable and repeatable result. Of course, customers with modifications such as an intercoolers or headwork can accommodate different tuning. Ultimately we are here to utilize this amazing engine but will not sacrifice reliability for an extra 10-20WHP. Reliable performance solutions is what we do and we spend many hours with a lot of data logging equipment to ensure that outcome.

DISCLAIMER: FOR CLOSED COURSE COMPETITION USE ONLY
(NOT INTENDED FOR STREET USE)

BT Moto Stage 1 Flash Details:

Ignition - Optimized to make the most power while still being safe and reliable.

Throttle Derestriction - Giving you the ability to utilize 100% of the throttle is paramount in track situations where you need all the power you can get on demand. The factory file has a "dead spot" on the top end that kills the bikes power curve when it should be making the most. This also means any kind of straight line acceleration also suffers. We remove these factory restrictions to ensure a smooth and predictable throttle, all the way to redline.

Lower Fan-On Temp - Let's face it, this bike rides a little on the hot side. To help not only the riders enjoyment but also keep the engine slightly cooler, we've lowered the fan-on temps.

Increased RPM Limiter - The stock RPM limiter is set to 12,700 RPM. We have been testing 13,200 RPM with zero negative side effects. We set the RPM limiter for 13,200 RPM in all gears. This helps you stay in the powerband longer and reduces the need to shift at the track.

Increased Top Speed Limiter - Removed so you can let the bike run free in any track environment.

Traction Control Switch - This one is really just an annoyance that we took care of after riding the bike. We noticed you couldn't switch the traction control system off while riding the bike. With our tuning you now can.

What is a BT Moto Handheld Tuner and what are the benefits of having one?

Thoroughly tested by our own engineers, not just for its function but also durability. We purposefully dropped this thing about 100 times just to make sure if you accidentally dropped it, it would still be a usable device.

So why buy it when you can just send in your ECU for flashing and spend less? Let's see the breakdown:

No Downtime - No need to send in your ECU or remove it from your bike at all. You order the handheld, it get's delivered to you, you flash your bike. You never miss a day of riding and no effort removing the ECU.

Go Back to Stock Anytime - You can flash the original, stock file, back into the bike at any time and for any reason.

IMPORTANT! It is crucial you check your oil level carefully after each oil change. If you add too much oil (above factory recommended 'high') "windage" may occur. This is when the crankshaft, rotating at a high RPM will churn the oil to the point where small air particles are trapped in the oil. This is bad for many reasons. The main reason this is bad for the Z H2 is because the crankcase is under pressure and has a very high tendency to push this aerated oil to the airbox and supercharger. If the oil gets to the supercharger, it will start to feed the oil to the combustion chamber to burn. If this happens the octane rating of the fuel, now mixed with oil, lowers significantly and causes massive detonation. EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO MAKE SURE YOUR OIL IS AT A PROPER LEVEL BEFORE RIDING.

PLEASE NOTE:

PLEASE NOTE: STAGE 2 IS WHAT WE CONSIDER THE MAXIMUM LIMIT FOR THE STOCK ENGINE AND CAN ONLY BE RUN ON 93 OCTANE PUMP GAS OR BETTER. DO NOT PURCHASE IF YOU INTEND TO USE 91 PUMP GAS.

Stage 2 goes a step further beyond Stage 1 with a higher RPM limiter and more aggressive tuning. As a result we found 15-20WHP! We achieved this by working with Brock Davidson from Brock’s Performance so we could squeeze every last HP we can get from the stock Z H2 engine and its unique configuration. This is a nothing left on the table tune and meant for those who are racing, monitoring the bike constantly, and checking fuel quality. Use Stage 1 for a no compromise option.

BT Moto Stage 2 Flash Details:

We have been testing 13,650 RPM with zero negative side effects. We set the RPM limiter for 13,650 RPM in all gears.

Quick Shifter – We all know how slow the QS is stock. Our tuning reduces “kill” times to make the quick shifter much faster than stock, and a better overall riding experience.

Race Features – Minor features unlocked for the purpose of track use.

Fuel Cut – Optimized for better limiter feel.

IMMO Off – Immobilizer off.

Mode Based Mapping – High power mode will be a pump gas map and medium power mode will have changed ignition and fuel mapping optimized for racing fuel.

Injector Balancing – More power found through injector balancing and throttle based fixes.

Ram Air – Changes to ram air mapping to maximize power and rideability.

The Suzuki Hayabusa has been a staple in the performance industry since its inception in 1999. When people think "fast bike", the Hayabusa is one of their first thoughts. With the introduction of the Gen 3 Hayabusa in 2022, Suzuki also introduced some restrictions. We decided to tackle this project due to customer demand and issues with current flash offerings on the market.

Months of R&D on the dyno and the street have helped us make the ideal flash solution for the new Hayabusa. From taking off from light to light, driving through traffic, or even racing at the track, the BT Moto difference can be felt. Power increased across the entire RPM range with restrictions removed, as well as smoother and better overall rideability makes our Stage 1 flash turn the Hayabusa into the bike you always wanted.

PLEASE NOTE (BT MOTO VELOCITY STACKS): With a completely stock Hayabusa and flashing, the Hayabusa yields small gains. Flash with our custom velocity stacks are massive. WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND FLASHING IN CONJUNCTION WITH OUR VELOCITY STACKS FOR SIGNIFICANT POWER GAINS.

Flash Design Options:

Increased drivability flash (retains OEM throttle mapping)

Drag flash (1-1 throttle mapping)

Drag Flash Note: Drag Throttle settings are designed to mimic non-throttle by wire throttle settings for precise throttle control at the drag strip. This means that rider input of 0-100% vs. RPM is not interrupted or altered by the ECU. While the Drag Flash can be used under any riding conditions, improper rider input can create undesirable vehicle operation in some cases.

Example: If the rider is in a higher gear (5th/6th etc..), at low speeds/RPM’s (20 MPH/2000 RPM, etc…) and decides to snap to WOT (Wide Open Throttle) instantly, the bike can bog, severely stumble or possibly even shut off completely – causing an unsafe riding condition. To avoid the situation in this example, select the proper gear (1st) to match the RPM and roll on the throttle as aggressively as desired. Please also note that Drag Throttle settings are separate/do not alter other SDMS rider settings regulated by the ECU, such as power, traction control, lift, engine braking, quick shifter, etc...

What’s Included in the BT Moto Stage 1 Flash:

Fan temp lowered to 194°F to keep bike out of compensation or correction tables, keeping power consistent and at its maximum output

Gear 1-6 ignition timing retard removed per mode keeping power consistent in all gears (exclusive to BT Moto)

Throttle 1-6 ETV limits removed per mode maximizing power

"A" mode optimized for 1:1 throttle and no restrictions (drag flash only)

Rev limiter adjusted for best performance and sustainable reliability

Deceleration fuel and ETV maps optimized for smoothness during riding

Ignition tables optimized per cylinder

Fueling tables optimized per cylinder and per gear (BT Moto exclusive)

Ignition dwell adjusted to optimize power

Allows OEM O2 sensor removal without trouble code

DYNO PROVEN

The dyno results below (see gallery for dyno chart) are from a 2022 Suzuki Hayabusa tested at our facility in Massachusetts. This bike has no modifications (other than stipulated) and is on 93 octane pump gas. You can see gains through the entire RPM range from down low to up high. The deeper the bike gets into the RPM range, the more power you get. You can see the stacks make a lot of power up top with clearly no losses down low. Results tested same day, same dyno, back to back.

Top speed limiter removed correctly (without errors)

Quickshifter gets faster "kill" times (BT Moto exclusive)

BT Moto Stacks add 20whp WITHOUT TUNING (more with tuning)

What is a BT Moto Handheld Tuner and what are the benefits of having one?

Thoroughly tested by our own engineers, not just for its function but also durability. We purposefully dropped this thing about 100 times just to make sure if you accidentally dropped it, it would still be a usable device.

So why buy it when you can just send in your ECU for flashing and spend less? Let's see the breakdown:

No Downtime - No need to send in your ECU or remove it from your bike at all. You order the handheld, it get's delivered to you, you flash your bike. You never miss a day of riding and no effort removing the ECU.

Store Multiple Maps - When you send in your ECU, you only get one map. You might be thinking, "why would I need more than one map?". Storing multiple maps means you're able to flash for different fuels. If you're a serious track competitor, we can work with you to get you different mapping for different tracks. If, for example, you're add an exhaust to your stock bike, we can email you a file that takes the new exhaust into account with the changes you need to optimize your bike's new modifications.

Go Back to Stock Anytime - Not only can you store multiple race maps, you can also flash the original, stock file back into the bike at any time and for any reason.

The dyno results below (see gallery for dyno chart) are from a 2022 Suzuki Hayabusa tested at our facility in Massachusetts. The baseline has no modifications and the after results are our stacks only. NO FLASH. Just stacks. This shows how poorly the stock Hayabusa stacks are designed. Yes, without tuning there is some loss in the mid range but up top we gain 20whp. Again, this is completely stock tuning with our stacks.

Fueling – With custom tuning we can target better AFR (air/fuel ratio) plots to enhance not only racing performance, but also cruising and partial throttle inputs.

Ignition – Optimized to make the most power while still being safe and reliable.

Throttle Derestriction – Giving you the ability to utilize 100% of the throttle is paramount in track situations where you need all the power you can get on demand. The factory file has a “dead spot” on the top end that kills the bikes power curve when it should be making the most. This also means any kind of straight line acceleration also suffers. We remove these factory restrictions to ensure a smooth and predictable throttle, all the way to redline.

Lower Fan-On Temp – Let’s face it, this bike rides a little on the hot side. To help not only the riders enjoyment but also keep the engine slightly cooler, we’ve lowered the fan-on temps.

Increased RPM Limiter (at customer request) – The stock RPM limiter is set to 13,800 RPM. We have been testing 14,400 RPM with zero negative side effects. We set the RPM limiter for 14,400 RPM in all gears. This helps you stay in the powerband longer and reduces the need to shift at the track.

Removed Top Speed Limiter – Removed so you can let the bike run free in any track environment.

"Following the release of our wildly popular Stage 1 Flash we needed to sit down and really start to look at what the 2020 truly has to offer. Anyone with our Stage 1 Flash will tell you how much it improved acceleration, got rid of the now infamous "dead spot", fixed the OEM idle issues, and made the motorcycle feel better and more smooth overall. Stage 2 has months of research and development behind it as well as datalogging and dyno testing. The new S1000RR (K67) is familiar to us but also completely changed. To that end we were able define new ECU strategies that we can help make this already impressive bike even more impressive. Stage 2 is a feature map making the bike more consistent, more reliable, and smoother and combined with our IAT relocation kit and flapper removal kit (sold separately) results in a much improved motorcycle! The IAT relocation and flapper are not required but helpful."

What’s Included in the BT Moto Stage 2 Flash:
Includes all benefits of the Stage 1 Flash with these added features:

BT Moto Stage 2 Flash Details:

Octane adjustments for auto adaptation on pump gas for US and international fuels 91-94 octane 95-100 RON. Utilizing the multiple ignition maps and factory widebands, we are able to increase performance based on knock detection. This also means if you have some bad fuel, the motorcycle will still compensate and put the bike into safety mapping just like the OEM ECU would. This ensures your bike stays consistent and reliable.

Corrected cold/warm start idle to 2015 RR levels, finer tuning beyond Stage 1. Stage 1 did a lot to correct the startup issues the 2020 S1000RR was having. Stage 2 goes a step further. There is no longer a high idle that transitions into a lower idle. The idle remains static without any lean popping, idle hunting or stalling (see comparison video here).

Re-calibrated timing for higher octanes to make use of race fuels on same tune. The 2020 S1000RR has multiple ignition maps and based on knock feedback, the bike will start to adjust to different timing maps. This means if you have a high octane fuel in the bike or race fuel and knock isn’t present, the bike will transition to a more aggressive timing map automatically. A more aggressive timing map will safely allow the bike to make more power. No more flashing every time you want to use race gas although we can still provide specific race fuel mapping designed to be used on ONLY race gas. This feature is most beneficial when you are on the track or street and don’t have your handheld available to swap maps. This also includes knock control adjustments.

Lower max lambda, leaner high RPM Target for a few more horsepower. AFR (air/fuel ratio) adjustments have been made to Stage 2 to be more aggressive to get a little more power out of the bike while remaining safe.

Higher RPM limit without throttle cut for roll racers (optional) With Stage 2 we are able to raise the RPM limiter to 15,000 RPM while also making sure the raised RPM event is not stored in the ECU. We have also adjusted the spark and fuel cuts so when the rev limit is hit, the bike doesn’t feel like you slammed on the brakes, it’s more gentle now.

45% faster up and downshifts over Stage 1 and now allows the use of fast shift sensor products on the market if desired (Alpha).
